Hillary Clinton has been many things in her life: first lady, senator (參議員), presidential candidate and secretary of state (國務(wù)卿). But recently, she added one more role to the list: senior citizen. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton turned 65 on October 26, a milestone thatwarrants a look back at her long and accomplished career.
希拉里•克林頓在她的人生中扮演過很多角色：第一夫人，參議員，總統(tǒng)候選人，國務(wù)卿。但是最近，在她的角色列表中有增添了一個(gè)：高級公民。10月26日美國國務(wù)卿希拉里•克林頓就65歲了，是時(shí)候準(zhǔn)許她回顧人生這一個(gè)漫長又碩果累累的職業(yè)生涯里程碑。
Hillary Rodham was born on October 26, 1947, in Chicago. She graduated from Wellesley College (威爾斯利學(xué)院) and Yale Law School (耶魯法學(xué)院), where she met her future husband, Bill Clinton.
1947年10月26日，希拉里•羅德漢姆在芝加哥出生。她畢業(yè)于威爾斯利學(xué)院和，在耶魯法學(xué)院她遇見了未來的丈夫，比爾•克林頓。
Upon graduation, she moved to Arkansas in 1974, and married Bill Clinton in 1975. While in Arkansas, Clinton worked as an assistant professor at the University of Arkansas School of Law (阿肯色大學(xué)法學(xué)院), and later worked at the Rose law firm, where she became the firm’s first female partner.

She served as first lady of Arkansas for 12 years after her husband was elected governor there and became first lady of the United States after Bill Clinton was elected president in 1992. During her tenure (任期) as U.S. first lady, Clinton worked to improve the country’s health care system, and became the most traveled first lady in American history, voyaging across the globe to advocate for both women’s rights and human rights.

In 2007, Clinton launched a bid to become president of the United States, which had she succeeded, would have made her the first female U.S. president. Losing to Barack Obama, she was appointed by him secretary of state in 2008.

While Clinton has announced her intention to retire from government at the end of President Obama’s term, some speculate she might be doing so to prepare for a second run at the presidency.
