　　1.hemi-, semi-：半

　　hemicycle n. 半圓形;半圓形建筑

　　E.g. The inner container is stainless steel, hemicycle structure is easy to clean.

　　采用鏡面不銹鋼內膽，四角半圓弧易清潔。

　　semiautomatic adj. 半自動的

　　E.g. It is illegal in some countries to hunt with a semiautomatic rifle.

　　在有些地方使用半自動步槍狩獵是違法的。

　　2.mono-, uni-： one 單一

　　monologue n. 獨白

　　E.g. Morris ignored the question and continued his monologue.

　　莫里斯不理會這個問題，繼續他的長篇大論。

　　uniform adj. 統一的;均勻的

　　E.g. The rows of houses were uniform in appearance.

　　這一排排的房屋外表都是一樣的。

　　3.ambi-, amphi-：兩，周圍

　　ambiguous adj. 有兩個意義的，曖昧的

　　E.g. In fact, your ambiguous words amount to a refusal.

　　實際上，你說的那些模棱兩可的話等于是拒絕。

　　amphibian adj.兩棲的

　　E.g. It is being actively pursued by amphibian specialists.

　　許多兩棲類生物研究專家正積極的從事這項工作。

　　4.bi-, di-：二、雙

　　biweekly adj. 兩周一次的

　　E.g. He used to see them at the biweekly meetings.

　　他以前總是在兩周一次的會議上看到他們。

　　dioxide二氧化物

　　E.g. The proposed initiative would mandate a reduction of carbon dioxide of 40%.

　　倡議將強制規定把二氧化碳排放量降低40%。

　　5.tri-：三

　　triangle三角形

　　E.g. He swept a triangle with his finger.

　　他用手指在空中畫了個三角形。

　　triple三倍的

　　E.g. The mine reportedly had an accident rate triple the national average.

　　據報道，該礦事故發生率是全國平均水平的3倍。

　　6.multi-, poly-：多

　　multiform adj. 多樣的

　　E.g. We hope for multiform cooperation with new and old clients both at home and abroad.

　　公司期盼與國內外新老客戶進行多種形式的合作。

　　polygon多邊形

　　E.g. Boundaries of the polygon may extend to infinity.
