考研英語英譯漢難句分類辨析之比較結構

下列幾種結構均可表示比較：

　　1)如果要表達人與人、事與事等之間是相似的，可用as或like。如：He�餾 bit of a nob, as his father does.他這人有點勢利，就像他父親那樣。還有so do I, so am I, neither/nor do I等也表示相似。

2)當要表達事物之間在某方面一樣時，可用as:as:和as much/many:as:如，Learn as much as you can about what to expect in the future.對于預料將發生的事要盡量多做準備。

　　3)表達事物之間差別的結構可采用more :than與其……不如……，no less then簡直是，實在是；It is that...but that...這不是說……，而是說……。后可接形容詞、副詞、動詞或名詞。more:than可譯作“與其說……不如說”。如，…the so�瞔alled division between the pure scientist and the applied scientist is more apparent than real.(考研試題)。理論科學家和應用科學家之間的所謂區分，與其說是實際的，不如說是表面的。

　　分析：本句屬于比較結構，含有一個比較結構not so much...as“與其說……不如說”。they為插入語。through the insights of great men of genius和because of more ordinary things為兩個狀語。like improved techniques and tools為介詞短語作定語，修飾things.
