北大附屬益田同文學校國際部開學周，校長邀您來看！

　　北大附屬益田同文學校國際部于2018年9月3日星期一正式“開門營業”。我所指的“事業”是教育事業，更具體一點，是國際教育事業。

　　The International Division of Peking University Yitian Tongwen School Langfang was ‘open for business’ on Monday 3 September, 2018. The ‘business’ I am referring to is the business of education. Specifically, international education.

　　雖然學習成績的提高是國際部始終的工作核心，但我們同樣重視學生的全面發展。我們希望讓孩子們獲得實用的技能和健全的性格，幫助他們可以在當今社會解決他們所面臨的問題，可以使他們在 21世紀取得成功。

　　While academic success will be at the heart of what we do in the International Division, we will be equally committed to the education of the whole child. We want our children to acquire the skills and dispositions that will help them find solutions to the challenges that we face today and, ultimately, make them successful in the 21st Century.

　　我們希望我們的學生能夠學會與他人積極有效的合作，批判性地分析問題和解決問題，具有創新性，能夠清晰地表達自己的想法并進行有效的溝通，能夠熟練的使用現代科學技術。

　　We want our students to be able to collaborate effectively with others, to critically analyse and solve problems, to be innovative, to be able to communicate with clarity, and to be able to use technology effectively.

　　我們堅信某些性格特征是在當今社會中生活和工作必不可少的，最終獲得成功的是那些具有高度反思意識，積極參與，善解人意，充滿好奇心和具有適應能力的人。同時，我們堅信樂于奉獻和持續努力是獲得個人成就的最關鍵的精神。我們的目標就是在培養學生以上優秀品質。

　　We also believe that certain dispositions are essential in the modern world and that the most successful are those who are highly reflective, engaged, empathetic, inquisitive and adaptable. Above all, we believe that dedication and effort are the most critical attributes of high-achieving individuals, and it is our goal to develop these qualities in our students.

　　在開學的周，國際部為學生提供了和教師互相熟悉和了解的機會。

　　我們與您分享的照片只是我們活動的一部分，因為很遺憾有些活動的美好瞬間沒有被捕捉下來，照片有時也無法展示孩子們的學習狀態、參與熱情以及在活動中獲得的喜悅。但我們仍會認真的記錄孩子們在國際部的點滴生活!

　　The photos we share with you can only tell a part of our story and can never really express the level of engagement, learning and fun that was had by all. We sincerely plan for this to continue!
