    1. almost adv.幾乎

    We almost go to the park every day. 我們幾乎每天上公園。

    He almost cried when he was late for school.他上學遲到時幾乎要哭了。

    此處要重點強調的是副詞的位置：副詞通常用在be動詞和助動詞之后，行為
動詞之前。

    2. never adv. 從不

    My friend never goes out at night.我的朋友晚上從不外出。

    My friend Winnie never gets angry.我的朋友溫妮從不生氣。

    反義詞：always總是—never 從不

    He is never late for school. He is always on time.他上學從不遲到，
總是很準時。

    3. other pron.另外人（或物），其他（或物）

    Kitty is always kind to others. 基蒂總是對他人很友好。

    My cousin Ken always talks to others in class.我的表弟肯總是在課上
與別人說話。

    adj.其他的，另外的

    I have some other friend. 我還有其他一些朋友。

    I have been to some other places. 我已去過其他一些地方。

    兼類詞

    other 既作代詞，又作形容詞She always helps others.（代詞）

    She always helps other people.（形容詞）

    注意：代詞可以指代名詞，如：others = other people ；形容詞是用來修
飾名詞的，如：other people，other friend，other places

    Alice and Kitty always help each other. 愛麗絲和基蒂總是互相幫助。

    Don ‘t talk to each other now. 現在不要互相說話。

    Language focus

    1. But she doesn‘t talk at all.但是他什么也不說。

    （1 ）but 轉折連詞，“但是，可是”的意思

    （2 ）not … at all 用于否定句，表示“一點也不，完全不”；Not at all.
是“不用謝。”是一種禮貌用語。

    辨析sometimes ， sometime ， some time， some times

    （1 ）sometimes 有時

    e.g. He is sometimes late for school.

    （2 ）sometime指過去或將來的某個時候

    e.g. I will visit you sometime next week.

    （3 ）some time 指一些時間

    time時間是不可數名詞。e.g. Please give me some time to do homework.

    （4 ）some times指一些次數或倍數，幾次或幾倍

    因為time指次數，倍數時是可數名詞。e.g. I met Kitty some times last
week.
