李華在房門上發現一張紙條，可是字體寫的很潦草，看不清寫的是什么，也
不知道是誰寫的。今天李華會學到兩個常用語：gibberish 和google.

    LH： Larry，你能不能幫我看看這張字條上到底寫些什么？

    LL： I can't read it， either. It looks like gibberish to me. Are
you sure someone didn't leave it as a joke？

    LH：為什么有人要跟我開玩笑留這張字條？你說這看來像gibberish.那是什
么語言？

    LL： Gibberish means language that doesn't make any sense.

    LH： Gibberish就是寫得亂七八糟，沒有人看得懂的意思。那不就是胡言亂
語嗎？為什么有人要寫這張奇怪的字條，還放在我門上呢？

    LL： I don't know. That doesn't make any sense to me.

    LH：我想這字條應該很重要，不然這個人不會千里迢迢到我的樓里，在我門
上留下這張字條。

    LL： Well ， it wasn't important enough for them to write in plain
English. I wouldn't worry about it if I were you.

    LH：那倒也是，要是很重要，這個人應該寫清楚一點嘛！我只希望這個留字
條的人不要認為我沒禮貌，不給他回復。

    LL： Hey， it's not your fault that the note was all gibberish. Besides，
if it's really important， whoever it is will try to contact you again.

    LH：沒錯，如果真有什么重要的事，這個人會再和我聯系的。對了，Larry ，
你知道我還在哪里見過這種寫得亂七八糟的東西嗎？

    LL： No ， but I'm sure you're going to tell me.

    LH：一些美國人喜歡在身上刺中文刺青或穿帶有中文字的衣服。可是有時候
這些中文根本就不對，看不清是什么字。所以也算是gibberish. LL ： Yeah ，
I've seen people do that， too. But the truth is， I saw the same thing
in China： People would wear clothes with English writing on them that
was pure gibberish.

    LH：嘿嘿，這真有意思。我想都是因為大家對外國語言似懂非懂吧？

    ******

    LH： Larry，又有人在我門上留條了，不過這一次，還有個公司商標在上面。

    你聽說過一個叫West的公司嗎？

    LL： No ， I've never heard of it ， but you can find out what sort
of company it is by googling it.

    LH：你要我做什么？Google？那是什么意思？

    LL： You know that there is an internet search engine called Google
，right？

    LH：我當然知道因特網的搜索引擎Google. 中文叫古狗網站，我經常用。

    （現在叫谷歌啦）

    LL： Well ， people use it so often ， that now it has become a verb
meaning to do an internet search using Google.

    LH：噢，因為大家經常用古狗網來查詢，所以現在google已經成了一個動詞，
意思是上網用古狗網查資料或信息！你是要我上網去google一下，查查這家公司？

    LL： That's my advice. It will only take a minute. Googling stuff
is so convenient. I can't imagine what life was like before Google.

    LH：就是啊，要是從前找一家公司，不知道要花多少時間翻電話本，現在只
要上網，一下子就找到了。

    LL： Sometimes when you google something， you get a lot of unnecessary
information ， but you can look through it relatively quickly.

    LH：沒錯，我剛開始google的時候，我總覺得不到點上。現在我看誰都得google，
因為它實在是很方便。好，我現在就上網來看看這家West公司到底是做什么的。

    LL： Good luck. I hope you get an answer to the question of who has
been leaving mysterious notes full of gibberish on your door.

    LH：嗨，Larry ，要是我google碰到問題，我還得請你幫忙吶！

    LL：Oh， google is so easy， you won't have any problems.

    今天李華學到兩個常用語，第一個是gibberish ，就是寫的亂七八糟，看不
清的字，或者是胡言亂語，讓人聽不懂得話。另一個常用語是google，是指上網
查某個信息或資料。
