    發音要決：也許有的時候在描述這個前元音的時候我們會想當然認為它是[i]的縮短版本，其實這是錯誤的，或者至少說是簡單化的理解。首先注意一點，美語中已經沒有了長音符號，所以這兩個音是相對獨立的。當然，在口形上仍然存在相似之處。切忌將該音發成中文的“衣”。

    發音時：唇部扁平，但沒有發[i]的時候那么伸展，且口形稍大。舌前部稍向硬腭抬起，但趨勢不能太強。

    發音要決：這個音和我們上面講的[I]很相近，極易混淆。其實區別很簡單，發[I]的時候口形較小，而[W]則口形稍大。兩者都屬于前元音，舌前部都需要靈活運動。

    發音時：口形扁平，上下齒之間約能伸進自己的食指尖。舌尖抵住下齒，舌前部有微微上抬的趨勢，但是沒有[I]那么明顯。
