　　Feet on the ground

　　IS it only clever and good-looking students who can be happy in school? Bestselling writer Xiao Nizi (Nini() doesn't think so.

　　"Everyone has their own place in the sky," she said, "We're all special in our own ways."

　　Nini, from Hunan Province, writes stories about young people on campus (校園). Her books, such as Devil's Kiss (《惡魔之吻》) and Love on Midsummer's Night (《仲夏夜之夢》) are very popular among kids.

　　In her stories, the main character is usually an average girl who is neither pretty nor smart. But they always win the love of a Prince Charming (白馬王子), or become a star admired by everybody.

　　Simple but beautiful

　　"It's not because of luck, " said Nini. "They are just sincere (真誠的) and honest. They know what they are good at and work hard to realize their dreams."

　　Nini herself is like one of the characters in her fairytales. She was a shy girl at school. But she thought a lot and liked language - and that made her decide to be a writer. She wants her stories to cheer unhappy kids up.

　　She believes that life can be simple but still beautiful. You can see this in the way she lives her own life. She doesn't buy expensive clothes or bags but makes them herself.

　　"I want to say that it's possible for most people to live happily. You're happy when there's love around you, and you know what you really want."

　　Tang Yuanyuan, 13, from Tianjin, is a big fan of Nini.

　　"Nini's stories are so close to teens' lives. They also give me courage (勇氣)."
